This is a sand tiger shark devouring its wombmate. Yep. Some species of sharks end up eating each other in the womb when the yolk runs out and the first shark to develop teeth eats its siblings to survive. After eating all of its shark embryo siblings, the mother will continue to produce unfertilized eggs for the lone one to eat. Imagine how all of that going on in there feels if you’re the mother shark.
And no, they can’t eat their way out of the womb cause... imagine trying to eat your way out of a large ball of cellophane when your snout is longer than your jaws.
Guess you could call it the womb of the mutilated.

before we judge the sharks ... how do we know the same thing wouldn’t happen in a human womb with embryos from different fathers? ...

If I remember correctly a few other species engage in this behavior as well.
